About Claire
Twenty years. One sector.
A different kind of firm.
I did not start my career in recruitment. I came from a completely different industry, and whilst I did not realise it at the time, it was one of the best things that ever happened to me professionally.
When I moved into recruitment, I brought something with me that many recruiters do not have, an understanding of what real commercial pressure looks like from the inside. What it actually feels like to be the person making the decision, carrying the responsibility, needing the right answer quickly. That understanding has shaped everything about how I work.
I made a career move in my late 20s and spent five years in recruitment before I found my way into interim management in UK manufacturing. And that was the moment everything changed.
I fell in love with manufacturing. Not in a theoretical way, in a genuinely fascinated, in an always wanting to know more kind of way. I found a sector that I love, because of the people who work in it.
The calibre and character of the people who lead these businesses. The complexity of what they navigate. The fact that manufacturing genuinely matters, it makes real things, employs real people, and keeps the country running.
Over the next 15 plus years I built deep relationships across the sector, with the business leaders and investors who call me when something critical needs solving, and with the interim executives who trust me to represent them properly and find them assignments where they can do their best work. The Institute of Interim Management has recognised me as a leading consultant for over a decade. That recognition matters, not because of the title, but because it is an insight into how my network value the service I provide.
In 2023 I decided to embark upon my ILM Level 7 Executive Coach qualification, the highest coaching qualification available in the UK, equivalent to Masters level. It felt like a natural progression and sits alongside interim services very neatly. Talking to people, drawing out challenges and exploring ways of approaching them applies through both a coaching lens as well as through the lens of being a dedicated interim specialist.
In my opinion, the best placements do not happen when you match a CV to a job description. They happen when you truly understand what a business needs and what a person is capable of. The coaching qualification helps me do both better.
Láithreach is pronounced LAH-rech, and is the Gaelic word for immediate and present. I chose it deliberately. It is exactly what good interim and good executive coaching should be.
I started Láithreach because I wanted to build something that properly represents both clients and candidates. A firm where clients get honest advice, including when an interim is not the right answer. A firm where candidates are treated as people and not just as CVs to be processed. A boutique practice where every relationship is managed personally, every brief is taken seriously, and the standard never slips.
That is what Láithreach is.
If you would like to have a conversation, about a requirement, an opportunity, or simply whether Láithreach might be the right fit, I would love to hear from you.
