We are the "controller" of the personal data we hold about you, which means we are responsible for deciding how it is held and used. Our details are:

This notice applies to the different people we deal with in the course of our business. Not all of it will be relevant to everyone. It covers:

Depending on your relationship with us, we may collect and hold the following personal data:

• Identity and contact details — your name, postal address, email address and telephone number.
• Career information — your CV, employment and work history, education, qualifications and skills, your references and referee details, and our notes from interviews or discussions with you.
• Right-to-work and identity documents — your passport, visa or other identification and evidence of your right to work in the UK.
• Payment information — for contractors and workers we pay, your National Insurance number and bank account details.
• Client contact details — for our client contacts, your name, job title, business contact details and details of your recruitment requirements.
• Website information — information collected automatically when you use our website (see section 10).

We do not generally collect special category data (such as information about your health, or your racial or ethnic origin) or criminal-record information, and we do not carry out DBS checks. If this ever changes, we will update this notice and, where required, ask for your consent first.

We collect personal data:

• directly from you — for example when you send us your CV, apply for a role or speak with us;
• from professional networking sites such as LinkedIn;
• from your referees; and
• from our clients (for client contacts, and where relevant for feedback on candidates).

Under data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. The table below sets out what we use your data for and the basis we rely on:

Where we rely on our legitimate interests, we have considered whether those interests are outweighed by your rights and interests, and you can object to this use at any time (see section 11).

We share personal data only where it is necessary, and with:

• our clients — where we put you forward for, or place you in, a role;
• our CRM and IT providers — who host our recruitment database and systems on our behalf;
• our payroll provider and professional advisers (such as our accountant) — to pay workers and run our business; and
• government bodies such as HM Revenue & Customs, and other authorities — where we are required to share data by law.

We require our service providers to keep your data secure and to use it only for the purposes we specify. We do not sell your personal data.

We are based in the UK and store your personal data in the UK. We do not routinely transfer your personal data outside the UK. Some of our service providers (for example, our website platform) may process limited data outside the UK; where they do, we take steps to ensure it is protected by appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

We keep your personal data for as long as we have a relationship with you and it remains relevant to our recruitment services — for example, so that we can consider you for suitable roles. We will delete it when you ask us to (see section 11), or when it is no longer needed. Where the law requires us to keep certain records for a minimum period (for example, payroll and tax records), we will keep those for as long as we are required to.

We may contact you with job alerts, industry updates or information about our services. Where we need your consent to do so, we will ask for it, and you can withdraw it at any time. Every marketing message will include an easy way to unsubscribe, and you can tell us at any time that you no longer wish to hear from us by using the contact details in section 1.

Our website, www.laithreach.com, is hosted on Squarespace. Like most websites, it uses cookies and similar technologies — small files placed on your device — to make the site work and to help us understand how it is used. Some cookies are essential to the running of the site; others (such as analytics cookies) are optional and are used only where you have agreed to them. You can manage your cookie choices through the cookie banner on our website and through your browser settings.
